来源:《每日电讯报》 🇮🇷 TEHRAN IS STARTING TO STUTTER AT DAY 5 OF PROTESTS, 7 DEATHS ARE NOW CONFIRMED The streets of Iran are becoming a focal point for 2026 as five days of economic frustration have turned into a serious standoff. We are looking at at least seven confirmed deaths now, with clashes intensifying in places like Lordegan and Azna. While the capital has seen a slight lull, the rural provinces are heating up as riot squads move in to contain what started as a strike by shopkeepers over a collapsing currency. The rial is hovering near record lows of 1.34 million per dollar, and food prices have spiked so hard that basics like meat and dairy are disappearing from family tables. Pezeshkian has admitted the government is essentially stuck, even moving to scrap subsidized dollar handouts that were supposed to keep prices down in the holy city of Qom, usually a regime stronghold, protesters are out in force, signaling that the anger has moved past just politics and into the kitchen. As Trump and Netanyahu discuss "round two" strategies at Mar-a-Lago to keep Tehran’s nuclear ambitions in check, the regime is finding its biggest threat might be coming from its own bazaars and marketplaces. It is a high stakes moment where the "party of government" is struggling to balance a war footing with a population that has simply had enough of the bill. Source: The Telegraph
